Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing of Alloy 600 butt-weld fittings typically involves raw material inspection, cutting/blanking, forming, heat treatment, machining, end beveling, surface treatment, dimensional inspection, and final packaging.

MTSCO’s partner factory, Hongdi, is equipped with CNC machining centers, forming equipment, and heat treatment facilities, enabling the execution of all critical stages of the fitting manufacturing process.

How do we ensure product quality?

• Raw Material Control: Before entering production, Alloy 600 raw materials undergo verification of material grades and specifications. PMI (Positive Material Identification), visual inspections, and necessary physical/chemical tests are conducted according to order requirements to minimize the risk of material mix-ups.

• Production Process Control: Key production stages—such as cutting, forming, heat treatment, machining, and surface treatment are documented using process cards throughout the manufacturing cycle.

• Pre-Shipment Inspection: Prior to dispatch, inspections cover appearance, dimensions, markings, and packaging. Additionally, PMI, PT (Dye Penetrant Testing), RT (Radiographic Testing), mechanical property testing, and third-party inspections are arranged based on project requirements to ensure full compliance with the order specifications.

Radiographic Testing (RT)

Radiographic Testing (RT) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method that utilizes X-ray or gamma-ray imaging technology to detect internal product defects. By analyzing images of the material's internal structure, RT can identify defects invisible to the naked eye, such as lack of fusion, cracks, inclusions, and other internal discontinuities. For butt weld fittings, Radiographic Testing (RT) is typically used to inspect the quality of weld zones and critical connection points, helping to verify the weld condition and internal structural integrity.
