Cold Drawn Process
Cold drawing is a key processing method for controlling the dimensions and surface quality of seamless pipes. Following initial forming and heat treatment, the pipe blank is drawn through a die at ambient temperature. This process refines the outer diameter, wall thickness, and roundness to meet precise specifications, making it ideal for nickel alloy pipe orders that require high dimensional stability.

What testing methods does MTSCO employ?
For Alloy 400 seamless pipes, MTSCO’s standard testing regimen includes visual inspection, dimensional checks, PMI (Positive Material Identification), UT (Ultrasonic Testing), ET (Eddy Current Testing), hydrostatic testing, mechanical property testing, and chemical composition analysis.
Visual and dimensional inspections verify that the surface condition, outer diameter, wall thickness, length, and end finish meet order specifications. PMI allows for rapid material grade verification, minimizing the risk of material mix-ups; UT and ET detect internal or surface defects; and hydrostatic testing validates the pipe's pressure-bearing capacity and sealing integrity.
Additionally, MTSCO can facilitate third-party inspections by agencies such as SGS, TÜV, or BV to meet specific project requirements. Upon completion of testing, we provide MTCs (Material Test Certificates), inspection records, and photographic documentation, offering customers clear quality assurance for receipt, installation, and project archiving.
