——Performance characteristics and standard requirements of ASTM B515 nickel iron chromium alloy welded pipes

Explore the ASTM B515 standard for welded nickel-iron-chromium alloy tubes, focusing on high-temperature grades like UNS N08800. MTSCO delivers reliable, corrosion-resistant solutions ideal for petrochemical heaters and heat exchangers.

ASTM B515 is a technical standard specifically designed for nickel iron chromium alloy welded pipes, suitable for equipment piping systems that require corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and high strength.

Common alloys include UNS N08120, N08800, and N08810, which typically contain a high proportion of nickel, combined with iron and chromium to form a stable austenitic structure with excellent oxidation resistance and stress corrosion resistance. They are commonly used in petrochemical heating furnaces, heat exchangers, high-temperature regeneration systems, steam cracking units, and process equipment under acidic conditions.

ASTM B515 provides strict regulations on the chemical composition, sample treatment, weld quality, and final testing of pipes. Welding needs to be completed through automatic welding processes, and the weld seam usually requires solution treatment to restore the material's corrosion resistance and reduce the risk of intergranular sensitization. The standard requires that the surface of the pipe should be clean, free of cracks, and tested by eddy current or ultrasonic testing to ensure that the weld is free of defects such as incomplete fusion and slag inclusion. According to the usage scenario, pressure testing or metallographic analysis can also be used to verify the reliability of welding performance in high-temperature environments.

MTSCO provides long-term supply of nickel iron chromium alloy welded pipes and seamless pipes. All raw materials come from large production enterprises and undergo 100% PMI retesting to ensure stable chemical composition. Before the finished product leaves the factory, the QC team will perform dimensional inspection, visual inspection, and necessary NDT testing. At the same time, we provide moisture-proof packaging, port protection, and wooden box reinforcement solutions, suitable for long-distance transportation and project delivery.
