——Specification for Welded Pipelines for General Corrosive Services

Discover the ASTM B619 specification for welded nickel and nickel-cobalt alloy pipes designed for corrosive services. MTSCO offers high-quality solutions in grades like Hastelloy C276 and Inconel 625, ensuring strict compliance and durability.

ASTM B619 is the core manufacturing standard for nickel and nickel cobalt alloy welded pipelines, specifically designed for General Corrosive Service and heat-resistant applications. This specification covers numerous high-performance alloy grades, including the well-known ones in the industry such as UNS N10276 (Hastelloy C276), N06625 (Inconel 625), and N08825 (Incoloy 825). These materials are widely used due to their excellent stability in strong acid, strong alkali, and high-temperature oxidation environments. ASTM B619 divides pipelines into two grades to meet different requirements: Class I refers to pipelines that have undergone sizing and solution annealing after welding, suitable for most conventional anti-corrosion applications; Class II adds a cold working step after welding and sizing, followed by solution annealing, which endows the pipeline with higher dimensional accuracy and superior surface quality.

The standard emphasizes the stability of welding quality. Pipes are usually welded using automatic welding or plasma welding. The weld seam needs to undergo solution treatment to ensure uniform structure and reduce the risk of stress corrosion. The surface quality must meet the requirements of smoothness and be confirmed to be free of cracks, inclusions, and incomplete fusion defects through eddy current or ultrasonic testing. According to different working conditions, pressure resistance testing or metallographic evaluation can be added to ensure that the weld remains stable in high temperature and high stress environments.

MTSCO provides long-term supply of various nickel alloy welded pipes and seamless pipes. We adopt a strict raw material inspection process and conduct PMI review on each batch of materials. Before shipment, the pipes will be appropriately packaged and recorded by QC for container loading, suitable for cross-border transportation and project delivery requirements.
