——Professional material selection guide for extreme corrosive environments
Explore Hastelloy alloys, high-performance nickel alloys for extreme corrosion where stainless steel fails. Learn the differences between the B-family (reducing acids), G-family (phosphoric acid), and C-family ("universal" alloy) for chemical processing.
Hastelloy is an outstanding representative of high-performance nickel alloys, designed to address extreme corrosive environments that stainless steel and other materials cannot handle. Its vast family is mainly divided into B series, G series, and C series, each of which is meticulously formulated to address specific corrosion challenges.
Hastelloy B family (such as B-3) is a nickel molybdenum (Ni Mo) alloy, whose core advantage lies in its excellent resistance to strong reducing acids. It performs well in hydrochloric acid environments of various temperatures and concentrations, making it an ideal choice for handling strong reducing media. However, B-series alloys should not be used in oxidizing environments as it can cause rapid corrosion.
Hastelloy C family (such as C-276, C-22) is the most comprehensive and widely used nickel chromium molybdenum (Ni Cr Mo) alloy in terms of performance. The C-series alloy has extremely strong resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, making it a "universal" material in complex and variable medium environments such as chemical processing and pollution control.
The Hastelloy G family (such as G-30, G-35) is a nickel chromium iron molybdenum copper alloy with properties between stainless steel and C-series alloys. The G series is often known for its excellent tolerance to phosphoric acid and other mixed acid environments, and is commonly used in fields such as fertilizer production.
Manufacturing these 'superalloys' into seamless and welded pipes with stable performance and reliable quality places extremely high demands on manufacturing processes and quality control. MTSCO has been deeply involved in the nickel alloy field since 2015, relying on our supply model of "factory complex" and deepening strategic cooperation with HUXIN factory, which has 35 years of manufacturing experience. We strictly follow international standards such as ASTM, EN, GOST, etc. to produce high-quality Hastelloy pipeline products. Through authoritative certifications such as ISO, PED, and M650, MTSCO ensures that every nickel alloy pipeline can operate safely and for a long time in the most demanding industrial environments, providing solid material guarantees for global customers.
