Key Chemical Composition and Performance Characteristics
The high nickel content of the 825 alloy gives it excellent resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. The addition of chromium and molybdenum endows the material with good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in oxidizing and non-oxidizing acidic environments. The addition of copper significantly enhances its corrosion resistance in reducing environments such as sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. Titanium is added to the alloy and stabilized through heat treatment, effectively preventing intergranular corrosion susceptibility in the heat-affected zone after welding and ensuring the durability of welded structural components.

In oil and gas extraction, alloy 825 is ideal for oil and gas well pipelines, subsea pipeline systems, and separation equipment handling hydrogen sulfide (acidic gases). Furthermore, it plays an important role in pollution control equipment (such as flue gas desulfurization systems), acid washing equipment, nuclear fuel reprocessing, and marine engineering.
